General Note:

General Note:
The GEP, in partnership with Focus Games, has developed an innovative and engaging board game that raises awareness of the role genomics plays in healthcare. The Genomics Game aims to start a bigger conversation about genomics for healthcare staff, particularly nurses and nursing associates who would like to feel more confident to discuss new scientific technology and what it means for patients. The game is played in two teams, with up to 12 players per team. The aim is to be the first team to collect five coloured discs to cover up the word "GENES" by answering a series of questions asked by the opposing team. The questions are designed to encourage discussion, which should enable participants to share experiences and learn from each other to acquire new knowledge. A facilitator is not required, and the game can be run as an informal group activity during a workshop or as part of a more structured training session.
